Parliament's Judiciary Committee has decided to allow Prosecutor General Hussain Shameem to share information about the criminal justice system as per his request.
The Prosecutor General (PG)'s Office recently wrote a letter stating that PG Office wants to meet the Judiciary Committee to examine parliament's view of the criminal justice system and the system.
The committee unanimously decided to allow Shameem as per his request during the committee meeting on Monday.
The Judiciary Committee has also decided to summon the Criminal Court, Department of Judicial Administration and the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) for clarification on the issue of space in the criminal court.
It was also decided that other agencies concerned should also meet them in a time-bound manner to clarify the information.
