Mariyam Minaal Mohammed, 8, who went missing from Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll Fiyoari yesterday, has been taken to Thinadhoo Hospital for further tests.

Minaal was reported to the Police as missing at 7:00 p.m. However, earlier yesterday evening, the Fiyoari council reported Minaal as missing.

Minaal was found unconscious in a deserted plot of land in the island at around 11:30 pm. Minaal was found lying on the ground in a narrow space between the wall and the house.

Fiyoari Council President Faizar Rasheed told One Online today that the deserted land where the child was found was searched several times but the child was not found. The child was later found by two women, and showed no signs of any external injuries.

After receiving treatment at the Fiyoari Health Centre, the child was taken to Thinadhoo Hospital with a Police escort.

Faizar added that Minaal left the house because she was angry with her mother. When Minal left the house, her mother followed her but she disappeared from her sight.
