The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has urged pilgrims to take precautions after returning from Hajj.

In a post on X today, the HPA explained the precautions to take if you have asthma and viral infections and the treatments you can get if you have the symptoms. As such, they advised to cover the mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing. They also advised to wash the hands often and wear masks while traveling and performing Hajj/Umrah.

The HPA said that within 14 days of returning from Hajj or Umrah, if you experience symptoms such as coughing, difficulty breathing, and chest pain, seek medical advice immediately.

1,150 people from the Maldives went for the Hajj this year.

The Hajj Mission said the pilgrims from the Maldives will start arriving tomorrow.
