Maldives Police Service on Saturday revealed that they are investigating a user on X (Formerly Twitter) for insulting Islam.

Police said in a statement that they had come to the attention of a post insulting Islam, adding that they are now investing the case.

A user named 'Aishath Nazaha' on X insulted the Hajj and Umrah Pilgrimage yesterday. The post on X comes after many claimed the practice of Yoga as unIslamic on International Yoga Day.

"It is okay to circle around a rock, bend towards it and kiss it, but yoga is forbidden!" the post read, insulting the Ka'aba (House of God) in Mecca.

Many users on the social media platform expressed their dissatisfaction the insult of the Islamic holy pilgrimage, Hajj.

Police have investigated cases of people who have made various posts insulting Islam in the past.
