Malé City Council has started road repair works on roads prone to flooding during the rainy season.

Malé City Mayor, Adam Azim revealed on social media that Izzudin Magu in front of Falaah Pre-School is being repaired at the moment.

"The drainage on this road is extremely slow during rains. Once completed, this will solve the challenges faced by pedestrians and school children. The repair of such roads will continue in the coming days," the Mayor said.

The recent monsoon rains in Maldives have caused flooding in many houses in different parts of the city.
