Kanditheem, Foakaidhoo, Feydhoo, and Lhaimagu have reached the Shaviyani Atoll Semi-Finals at the Sonee Sports Golden Futsal Challenge 2024, the largest and most prestigious football tournament in the Maldives.

The tournament is being played at the Rehendhi Futsal Stadiums in Hulhumale. Two matches of Shaviyani Atoll were played yesterday, with all group matches being played by now. Kanditheemu leads Group One, while Fokaidhoo is second in the group. Feydhoo won first place in Group Two while Lhaimagu came second in the group.

Kanditheem won a 11-1 victory over Fokaidhoo in the matches played yesterday. Ibrahim Nadad (Kudate) scored six goals while Ahmed Zamim scored three goals. Raul Niyaz and Mohammed Shan also scored. The only goal of the match was scored by Ibrahim Musir for Fokaidhoo.

In the other group, Lhaimagu won 3-0 over Feevah, where Abdul Karim Ahmed gave Lhaimagu the lead. Mohammed Rishfan and Adam Reehan scored the goals.

While four teams from Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll are competing this year, two matches were played yesterday. The latest runners-up Vadhoo beat Atoll Thinadhoo 1-0 as Captain Ayaz Ahmed scored the only goal of the match in the fourth minute.

Hoadeddhoo then beat Gaddhoo 2-1 in the second match of the Atoll. Ahmed Shaniu Abdul Ghani and Mohammed Iufaf Abdullah scored the goals. Alim Abdul Aziz scored the goal for Gaddhoo.

129 teams will compete in the Golden Futsal Challenge and 320 matches will be played. The Golden Futsal Challenge has now become the best platform for futsal players in the Maldives.
