Reports have come in that seven people have been arrested following the string of explosive attacks in Sri Lanka.

A BBC Journalist has made the statement shortly after the State Minister of the Sri Lankan Defence Minister announced that the perpetrators of the attack have been identified and would be arrested soon. The State Minister, Ruwan Wijewardene, said that action would be taken against extremist groups.

Although the identity of the culprits has not been released to the media, the information was passed on to state officials at an emergency meeting held today.

Explosions across the Sri Lanka today has killed 190 people and injured over 300 people. Following the attacks, the Sri Lankan authorities have declared an indefinite nation-wide curfew.

With 8 explosions set off so far, no group have claimed responsibility for the attack.

As the day began with six near-simultaneous explosions at three churches and three hotels, extremist Muslim groups have become the primary suspects.
