Ranil Wickremesinghe has been sworn in as the Sri Lankan Prime Minister (PM) for the sixth time.
Wickremesinghe took oath of office on Thursday, in the the wake of the political and economic turmoil in the island nation. He first took office as PM following the assasination of President Ranasinghe Premadasa in 1993.
Taking office, Wickremesinghe stated that the worst of the economic crisis is yet to come for Sri Lanka as the country expects exponential inflation. He added that the nation should ready itself for hyperinflation in the days to come.
Wickremesinghe served as PM in Sri Lanka from 2001 - 2004, for a 100 days in 2015, from 2015 - 2018, and from 2018 - 2019.
