The 8th explosion in the series of attacks across Sri Lanka today has gone off in Dematagoda. The most recent target of the attack is a housing complex on Mahawila Udyanaya Road in Dematagoda.

The area is close to the main airport in Sri Lanka, Bandaranaike International Airport.

While over 185 people have been killed in the explosions so far, the number of people injured continues to climb. Simultaneous attacks were carried out this morning in three churches and three hotels in Sri Lanka. Since then an explosion had gone off in Dehiwala before the explosion in Dematagoda.

The Maldivian Embassy in Sri Lanka has said that they are monitoring the situation closely and while no Maldivian has been killed or injured in these attacks, the embassy advises all Maldivians to stay at home.
