A local man has been arrested for attacking and mugging US dollars from a foreigner in Male’ City.

Talking to One Online, Police media official said that a local male has been arrested following the incident took place around 5:55 p.m. this afternoon near the Ace Hardware shop in Maafannu.

Police said that they found USD 1,300 on the 42 year-old suspect.

Muggings have been on the rise recently in Male’ City. And so the police has advised to contact them for assistance when moving large sums of money.
