Four names on the Interpol Red Notice List following the MMPRC corruption scandal has been removed from the list.

Maldives Police Service confirmed the retraction of the names to One Online. Police said that the decision to retract the names were made by the government. They said that the notice was initially issued because the authorities could not get in touch with the individuals. However, they have gotten “access” to the police and statements have been taken.

And so there is no longer a need for a Red Notice. Police said that they are in the UK seeking asylum but have full access to them.

An Interpol Red Notice was issued in 2015 and 2016 after the MVR 1.3 billion corruption scandal of MMPRC came to light. The notice was issued while they were out of the country. Since then, they have sought asylum in the UK.
