Care Society student, Shifna Ibrahim has won the Gold Medal in the Special Olympics.

Shifna won the Gold Medal in the 100 meter run at the Special Olympics taking place at Abu Dhabi. Mariyam Noora who was also representing Maldives in the 100 meter run won fifth place in the event.

There were two others who participated in this year’s Special Olympics from Maldives. The contestants are Wasmee Waheed and Ali Ameen who took part in the 100, and 200 meter run. As such, Wasmee Waheed won the Silver medal while Ali Ameen won fifth place in the 200 meter run.

While Maldivian athletes only competed in running events during the Special Olympics 2019, the event set to be held from 14 to 21 of this month have now concluded all running events.
