The Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage Yumna Maumoon is attending the 8th World Summit on Arts and Culture. The Summit was organized by the International Federation of Arts Council and Cultural Agency and held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Ministry said that 432 delegates from 82 nations will be taking part in the Summit being held from 12 to 14 March 2019.

The slogan for this year’s World Summit on Arts and Culture is “Mobile Minds: Culture, Knowledge and Change”.

The Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage also informed that the Summit was attended by researchers, policy makers and experts in the fields of arts and heritage.

It was reported that the Summit will be holding talks and discussions regarding the development and action plans concerning the topics, currently taking place in different countries. The Ministry also said that these discussions involved contemporary approaches in the progress of arts and heritage.

The 8th World Summit on Arts and Culture provides a platform for the gathering of several organizations and associates of heritage and culture.

The Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage has said that the Summit provides the opportunity for strengthening ties between Maldives and other nations in the field of arts and heritage. This gathering will also open several doors for the progress of the field for Maldivians.

Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage Mohamed Ikram as well as Director General Hawwa Nazla accompanied Minister Yumna on this visit.
