Manta Air has sponsored the ATR training for five different pilots.
In a ceremony held at the VIP Lounge of Manta Air at Velana International Airport, the Chief Operating Officer Edward Alsford presented the pilots with certificates of sponsorship.
The training of five seaplane pilots of Manta Air with ATR training is set to take place on 15 April 2019.
Manta Air has also informed that the 45-day training in Thailand is an all expenses paid for training program for these pilots.
Speaking to the press following the ceremony, the Chief Operating Officer Edward Alsford said that this is a great opportunity for Maldivians. He further said that this is a step forward in encouraging Maldivians who may have an interest in the field of aviation.
The Chief Marketing Officer of Manta Air, Ahmed Maumoon also spoke to the press and said that the operations of the airline will further progress with the opportunity provided for these pilots.
Mumoon said that while the operations of Manta Air is only three weeks old, the airline is receiving major support. He said that the aircrafts brought in today will help to widen the capacity of the airline. The Chief Marketing Officer said that although current flights are only scheduled for Kudahuvadhoo, the airline will start flights to Dharavandhoo in the near future. He added that future prospects include scheduling flights to Addu, Kooddoo and Huvadhu Atoll.
Maumoon said that Manta Air is preparing to put seaplanes into operations and added that the company will begin seaplane flights soon.
Manta Air brought their third aircraft to Maldives today.
