Maldives has won multiple awards in Indian Ocean category at the most prestigious honors in global travel and tourism, the World Travel Awards (WTA).

Key awards won by the Maldives at the 28th WTA include Indian Ocean's Leading Destination 2021, Indian Ocean's Leading Beach Destination, Maldives Indian Ocean's Leading Dive Destination along with the Indian Ocean’s Leading Tourist Board and Ocean’s Leading Tourist Board for the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).

Managing Director of MMPRC, Thoyyib Mohamed said that it was a testament to all the hard work, effort and the dedication of all in the Maldives tourism and travel trade, and I congratulate all stakeholders of the industry for this great.
