Power installed to eight Hiyaa towers

Electricity has been installed to eight towers of the Hiyaa Housing Project.

Media Officer of the State Electric Company (STELCO) told One Online today that the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has.made a request last night to hold off on providing electricity to the Hiyaa towers until the elevator commissions have been completed.

Electrical connection to the towers began on 17 August 2021 and has been connecting two towers a day and all the towers has been completed.

HDC has asked to hold off on the electricity until the elevators have been commissioned after a group of people got trapped in an elevator at a Hiyaa tower on 20 August and so to prevent such incidents.
