A special parking zone has been assigned in Male' for the residents of Vilimale'.

Male' City Council said that the parking zone for the Vilimale' residents is developed in on the south west side of Male' on Boduthakurufaanu Magu near the Tsunami Monument.

The newly developed parking zone has 20 spaces for four-wheel vehicles under 350 kg and 15 of those spaces will be given to four-wheel vehicle owners living in Vilimale'. And five spaces will be given to four-wheel vehicle drivers living in Vilimale'.

Male' City Council said that applications will be opening for these parking spaces will be opening soon and have to be sent to the general services department of the City Council with a copies of the National Identity Card, vehicle registration, Road Worthiness Certificate and the Annual Fee payment slip.

The current leasing rate for parking spaces from the Male' City Council is MVR 750 for registered taxi vehicles and MVR 1,500 for other vehicles.

However, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the City Council has reduced the price of MVR 1,000.
