Defense Minister, Mariya Ahmed Didi has been summoned to the National Security Committee (241 Committee) of the Parliament regarding the attempted assassination attempt on the Speaker of the Parliament, former President Mohamed Nasheed.

The Defence Minister was summoned as part of the inquiry to find out how the security of the Speaker of the Parliament was breached.

No further details on the summoning is available at this time as the Committee is being held behind closed doors.
