A speed launch traveling from Alifu Alifu Rasdhoo to Male' City has caught fire.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said the vessel "Navy 2" reported a fire board today at 6:45 p.m. and the fire began inside the two engines.

The vessel was traveling with 22 passengers and three crewman at the time of the incident. And the owner of the vessel has returned the passengers back to Rasdhoo on another vessel.

MNDF said that no one was injured in the incident.
