A landing craft of Champa Holdings carrying cement from Male' City to Lhaviyani Atoll Maabinhuraa has capsized and sank.

MNDF said that capsizing of the 35-foot vessel was reported to the MNDF Coast Guard's Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) last night at 2:45 a.m. and the MNDF Northern Area Coast Guard went to the scene near Lh. Maafilaafushi.

The vessel completely sank around 6:51 a.m. this morning.

The landing craft carrying two containers of cement had a crew of three Bangladeshi nationals and a local. MNDF said that no one was injured in the incident.
