Boat out for Grouper fishing sinks with five

A boat with five people on board out at sea to fish Groupers has sunk at 6 a.m. this morning.

ONE Online has learned that the vessel sank near an uninhabited island near Thaa Atoll Vandhoo. They were rescued buy a vessel that went to the area from Vandhoo.

A person close to the situation said that they were anchored near the island because of the rough sea. Then waves started coming up from the back of the boat and now the the whole vessel is under water.

The people on board the sunken vessel were from Th. Vilufushi. And the vessel is about 25 to 27 feet long.

No one was injured during the incident.
