Maldives Correctional Service has said that the former Vice President, Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Ghafoor, was transferred back to prison after being discharged from the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

This was reported by corrections through a tweet. Corrections said that Adeeb has been transferred back to Maafushi prison.

While Correctional Services have said this, Adeeb’s family has said that he has been transferred back to prison against doctor's orders. Adeeb’s family also claims that the Minister for Home Affairs Imran Abdulla has been influencing doctors in Adeeb's medical matters.
