Maldives Correctional Service has signed and agreement with Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) to facilitate specialist consultations for those in their custody.

The agreement was signed by the Commissioner of Prisons, Ahmed Mohamedfulhu and the Chief Operations Officer at IGMH, Ibrahim Saleem.

The one-year agreement aims to have specialist and supers pecialist doctors along with nurses and other technical staff to attend those with uncommon illness and medical complaints of those is the custody of the Correctional Service at their institutions for a short span to treat at least 20 patients at a time.

Maldives Correctional Service said that such an agreement helps to provide better healthcare services to those in their custody especially during the times of COVID-19.
