Maldives Police Service has said that they would be taking legal action against those who are violating the regulations set by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) and endangering the public.

Police made the statement in a press release after the opposition coalition has already announced that they would be holding a rally today.

Police said that from 13 February, gatherings of more than ten people have been banned in an effort to control the spread of COVID-19 in the city.

They also said that they are aware that a protest rally is set to be held today in violation of the HPA orders and the peaceful gathering acts.
