MNDF Coast Guard has been mobilized to transport a man to medical treatment after being attacked by a shark after falling off a fishing boat.

MNDF said that in the incident reported at 9:36 a.m. this morning, a 40-year-old man who was on board the fishing vessel “Zikura” near Lhaviyani Atoll Faadhoo.

According to MNDF, the man sustained heavy damage to his leg due to the shark attack when he fell overboard.

MNDF Northern Area Coast Guard is working to transport the victim to Lh. Naifaru for emergency treatment.
