Elections Commission has taken the decision to station eight boxes in different countries abroad for the upcoming 2019 Parliamentary election.

In a press conference held by the Commission, Chairman Ahmed Shareef announced that Eight boxes will be stationed in foreign countries. He added that the boxes will be finalized at the locations on the condition that more than 150 people residing in the area register to vote.

Areas allocated to station voting boxes include, Trivandrum and New Delhi in India as well as Malaysia, Sri Lanka, London and Singapore. In addition to that voting boxes will also be stationed in the capital city of Bangkok in Thailand and Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The Parliamentary elections are set to be held on 6 April 2019.
