Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) has completed their first neurosurgery with a success.
The surgery took place last night with the assistance from ADK Hospital. The patient was a 62-year-old with a brain hemorrhage (bleeding in the brain).
ADK Hospital said that a neuro team with equipment was sent to Addu City after the critical patient was deemed unsafe to be transported to Male’ City. The hospital congratulated the AEH on twitter on their neurosurgery.
Upon the request from AEH, Neurosurgeon, Dr. Ali Niyam, Neuro Scrub, Nurse Shamoona Ali and Critical Care Medical Officer, Dr. Adheem Shareef was sent to Addu City last night at 9:50 p.m. and particpated in the surgery at 11:45 p.m. according to ADK Hospital.
After the surgery, the patient was stabilized and brought to ADK Hospital for further treatment early this morning.
