A COVID-19 related death has been reported from Addu City raising the total number of COVID-related deaths in the country to 243.
An official from the Addu Equatorial Hospital told ONE Online today that an 83-year-old woman being treated at the treatment facility passed away at 2:13 a.m. last night.
The official said that there are four people being treated at the facility now and they are all in stable condition.
Aside from Male' City, the highest number of COVID-19 related deaths have been reported from Addu City. This most recent death marks the ninth COVID death from Addu and fifth death this month with two COVID-related deaths on Tuesday.
With the most recent death, that total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country has reached 243 that consists of 226 locals and 17 foreigners.
The highest number of COVID deaths were reported in the country in May 2021 where 13 deaths were reported on the 25th alone.
The first COVID-related death was reported on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
