The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country has risen to 245 after another person has passed away due to complications with the illness in Addu City.

Addu Equatorial Hospital said that an 87-year-old local woman being treated at the Hulhumale' COVID-19 Treatment Facility passed away at 11:56 p.m. last night.

with this first such death reported today the total number of COVID-related deaths in the country has risen to 245 and now consists of hat consists of 228 locals and 17 foreigners.

The highest number of COVID deaths were reported in the country in May 2021 where 13 deaths were reported on the 25th alone.

The first COVID-related death was reported on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
