Maldives Police Service has confirmed that they are investigating the rape of a young boy.

Police said that the sexual assault of a small boy by man was reported from the atolls last night and a 46-year-old local man has been arrested with a court order in connection to the crime.

And as the investigation continues, police said that they are taking proper measures although they did not say what those measures are.

While police investigates the rape of a young boy, the rape of a 48-year-old special needs woman was reported to the police from Hithadhoo, Addu City.
