MP for Maduvvari constituency, Adam Shareef Umaru, has said that that the from the people who lost their jobs from the reports due to the COVID-19 pandemic, very few received the Income Support Allowance from the government as the process is very slow.

Taking to Twitter, MP Adam Shareef said that over 11,000 locals lost their jobs amid the pandemic but many expatriates kept their jobs.

While the MP has made the remark, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih held a press conference yesterday at which he said this is the time for the government provide any assistance possible to both individual citizens and businesses.

The President assured that assistance will be provided as much as the financial status of the state allows.
