Former Defence Minister and the MP for Maduvari constituency, Adam Shareef Umaru has said that the current government is creating a Presidential Commission for everything and so the state ministries are not taking responsibilities for their duties.
He made the remark on Twitter after the President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih formed a Presidential Commission to inquire about the child rights violation cases that have been surfacing across the country recently.
In his tweet, the former Defence Minister said that based on the cost and the results it brings, it is useless to create commissions and a waste of time and resources. He also raised the question of results from the ministries and commissions formed to investigated the homicides and missing persons cases.
President Solih formed a commission of five members yesterday to look into the child abuse cases. The members on this commission are, Dr. Afiya Ali, Dr. Abdul Malik, Abdulla Rabiu, Maziya Abdul Sattar and Nicholas Richard Cowdery from Australia.
