A young local man has been arrested for sexually assaulting three women over the age of 60.

Maldives Police Service said that a man was arrested in Addu City for the attempted rape of a 64-year-old woman and further inquiry revealed that the person sexually assaulted two other women as well.

Police said that after the case was reported to the police at 10:35 a.m. yesterday morning, the 30-year-old suspect assaulted a 65-year-old woman and a 66-year-old woman on the same day.

The arrest was made with a court order yesterday and the police are investigating further.
