Assistant Commissioner of Police, Abdulla Fairoosh has said that the works who has to travel across the Sinamale’ Bridge for official work at the airport will be approved after they send in the information for a permit and the information is verified.

As part of the efforts to control the COVID-19 epidemic, the Sinamale’ Bridge is set to be closed to the general public from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. starting from last night. Maldives Police Service said that these measures will be in effect for two weeks.

Police said that only security forces and essential service providers can travel across the bridge during the bridge lock down hours.

The Male’ Area lock down amid the COVID-19 pandemic was extended for a third time for 14 days as the second one expired last night. Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said that the illness could spread further in the coming weeks.
