A total of 157 were fined yesterday for violating the lock down in effect amid the COVID-19 epidemic in the Maldives.

Maldives Police Service announced on Twitter that seven people were taken in to their custody for violating the lock down while 187 people were arrested as well.

For the safety of the public, the police have implemented a number of measures during the emergency lock down and set a regulation for those who need to go out of their homes for essential needs.
