Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) has said that the patient from Addu City that tested positive for COVID-19 was in contact with a number of people at the ICU and the Airport.

Speaking at a press conference held by the Addu Emergency Operation Center today, the Manager of AEH, Sharafussad said that while a patient was transferred to Malé City from the hospital, a large number of people visited him illegally at the ICU.

So far, 26 people have been identified and isolated as direct contacts with the patient including seven doctors and ten nurses along with members of the patient’s family.

The patient over the age of 4 from Addu was initially taken to the hospital following a heart attack.
