The two remaining escapees of the five people who escaped from Herethere Resort Quarantine Facility has been found and arrested.

Maldives Police Service has confirmed that that the two people have been brought into their custody in the early hours of this morning.

The escape of five people from the quarantine facility was reported to the police yesterday and three of them were found and brought into police custody last night.

After the decision by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) to quarantine people suspected of COVID-19, a number of people have been resisting it. However, those who refuses to go into quarantine faces a judge in court where it is ruled to put them in quarantine under a court order.

Recently, a video of an alleged escape of a foreigner from a quarantine facility was infamous on social media. However, the National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) said that there have been no reports of a foreigner escaping a a quarantine facility.
