Maldives Police Service has said that changes will be made to the time periods allocated on the permits to go out for essential needs during the Male’ City lock down amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Police said that changes will be in effect starting today, the first of Ramadan.

And so, the permit issued online to leave the house to buy essentials will be reviewed and resent according to the police.

The Maldivian capital went to urgent lock down after the person was confirmed for COVID-19. This left a large portion of the public without fully prepared for a lock down situation with the essentials. And so, some businesses have started delivering goods to houses while the government has started issued a special permit, issued by the police, to leave the house to by essentials.
