Maldives Police Service has said that all the people currently out on the streets must return home before 3:30 p.m.

A tweet sent out by the police said that following the HPA enforced lock down on Male’ City, everyone on the streets are advised to return home.

The tweet from the Police said that public cooperation is required to control the spread of the illness in the Male’ area.

Under the lock down on the Male’ area, all public transport will be suspended in Male’, Vilimale’ and Hulhumale’ and the streets will be cleared. And no transportation would be allowed to leave the Male’ area nor would any would be allowed in.

However, vehicles and personnel of the police, MNDF, emergency services and those with clearance from the National Emergency Operation Center would be allowed on the streets along with media personnel.
