World Health Organization (WHO) has advised against using the current COVID-19 pandemic for political gain.

Yesterday, the Director General of WHO, Dr. Tedros Adhanom said that the result of trying to gain a political advantage using the pandemic would result in the death of many. Instead, this is a time to put aside the political thinking and wok in unity to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Adhanom have made this remark at a time where the US President, Donald J. Trump has refused to provide financial aid to the efforts by the WHO claiming that the organization has a close relationship with China.

The Director General of WHO said that jealousy, anger and rivalries have to be put aside. He said that he is also facing death threats and racial discrimination because of the color of his skin. However, at this time, it is more important to put all that aside and work to protect the people from this global pandemic.

Over 1.5 million have been diagnosed with COVID-19 across the world and while 80,000 people have died from the illness, over 100,000 people have recovered.
