Survey for non-communicable diseases risk to begin in Male’ area

Preparations have been made to conduct a STEPS survey, in the Male’ City area this month, for non-communicable diseases risk factors.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) that a STEPS survey on non-communicable diseases began last year in the Maldives and the survey will begin in Male’, Hulhumale’ and Vilimale’ on 20 December.

The survey is being conducted in cooperation of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Maldives National University (MNU) with the initiative of the HPA.

Randomly selected houses will be visited to gather information for the survey by survey takers wearing a special pass issued by the MNU.
