Spokesperson of the National Emergency Operations Center (HEOC), Dr. Nazla Rafeeq has said that expired vaccines would not be used in anywhere in the country.
She made the statement in response to complaints accusing the use of expired vaccines in some islands.
Today, Dr. Nazla said that expired vaccines won't be used in any island and the World Health Organisation (WHO) has announced that the Pfizer vaccine expiration date has been extended by three months.
As booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine are being administered to those 50 years and above, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has previously said that booster doses will be opened to the public this month.
Maldives is using Pfizer vaccine as the booster which was sent by the USA in August.
