World Health Organization (WHO) has held a teleconference with the countries of the South-East Asia region of the WHO (SEARO).
Health Ministry said that the Health Minister, Abdulla Ameen took part in the conference to represent the Maldives along with the WHO Ambassador to the Maldives, Dr. Arvind Mathur.
Countries in the region aside from the SEARO countries took part in the conference to discuss the challenges in treatment and social issues amid the pandemic according to the Health Ministry.
WHO SEARO includes 11 countries; Maldives, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea), India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Timor Leste.
While a regional discussion has taken place with the WHO, Health Minister, Ameen, met with the WHO Ambassador Dr. Mathur on Wednesday to disucss controlling COVID-19 in the Maldives.
