A man has been arrested for sexually assaulting his 17-year-old stepdaughter.

Maldives Police Service said that they arrested 32-year-old local male today at 9:50 with a court order in connection to the sexual assault of a minor.

The case was reported to the North Central Police Division around 9:20 p.m. yesterday.

Police are investigating the case. To protect the identity of the victim, police will not be releasing the island and atoll of the victim.
