The eye clinic developed by the Chinese government has opened at the Hulhumale’ Hospital.

The Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, Zhang Lizhong, took to Twitter today saying that according to Dr. Chen, the 30-year veteran in the field who leads the team at the clinic, all patients who received treatment yesterday are in good health.

And so, the clinic performed 30 eye surgeries after its unofficial opening yesterday.

Developed under free aid from the Chinese government, the clinic provides consultations and treatments for various eye-related issues including glaucoma and ocular surface disease.

The clinic was developed under the agreement with the Chinese government to improve ophthalmology treatments in the Maldives. The agreement also covers training Maldivian doctors and nurses.
