Maldives Police Service has said that the weapon used in the murder of the taxi driver, Qasim Hassan, along with the fingerprints of the assailant has been found.
Commissioner of Police, Mohamed Hameed, announced on Twitter moments ago that the assailant’s DNA, too, have been found by the forensic team of the police. He said that the murder weapon was found in some trees 300 meters from the crime scene.
The Police Commissioner said that the investigation team has gone through a lot of CCTV footage to monitor the movement of the taxi to connect it to the assailant.
Spokesperson of the Police, Izmiya Zahir confirmed to One Online moments ago that with the murder weapon and fingerprints of the assailant have been found and officers are working to identify the assailant.
