A teacher at a school in one of the islands in the southern part of the country is currently under investigation for sexually molesting their female students.

Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services has confirmed that such a case has been reported to the Ministry. However, no further details were offered by the ministry.

Meanwhile, Maldives Police Service, too, have confirmed that an investigation is underway and confirmed that the suspected teacher is a foreign national.

Police said that the investigation in ongoing in cooperation with the Family and Children Service Center.
