Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services has said that 287 cases were reported to the Ministry this September.

The Ministry said that the cases reported in September 2021 include 127 cases of various abuse to children with the highest being 40 cases of child neglect.

There were 64 cases of gender-based violence and domestic abuse cases and. mong them, the highest number of cases are physical abuse. And so, there were 27 cases of physical abuse reported as domestic and gender-based violence. And 36 family issues cases were reported that include 18 cases in custody and looking after along with 16 cases of seeing children.

Gender Ministry also received 18 cases requesting care for elderly and people with disabilities along with 16 cases relating to child discipline and 15 cases of self harm.

September also saw six cases of withholding children's rights and five cases of violating the law.

The Ministry further said that five children in the care of the state were reintegrated to society in September while one child was given to foster care while employment was found for another.

There were 206 children in the care of the state at the end of September 2021.
