An expatriate man has been injured in Maafannu, Male’ City, in an attempted mugging with a sharp object.

Maldives Police Service said that the incident on Shaheed Ali Hingun was reported to the police today around 12: 02 p.m. The expatriate man sustained injuries to his back and the little finger on his right hand.

While no arrests have been made so far, police are still active at the scene of the crime.
