A man has been arrested while stealing from a coin box after breaking in to a shop in Male' City.

Maldives Police Service said that a break-in at a shop on Kimbigas Magu was reported at 4:38 a.m. this morning.

And a search of the area found a man pocketing coins from a plastic bottle to his jeans pocket near a parked motorcycle and was taken into custody.

He was searched to find MVR 475.75 believed to be stolen.

Police arrested the 29-year-old local man and is continuing the investigation further.
